I had to go to an art college to understand where to draw the line. But unlike others I got a kick whenever I crossed it. There’s a thin line between making fun of someone and being funny. I figured that the former is easy. And the latter, easier, though only for others. I realized that the business of humour is so serious that it’s not funny.
Rewinding a few frames back, after college was done with me, I wasn’t the one to be serious at anything. Leave alone the business of being funny. While my peers climbed many corporate ladders, and laughed all the way to the bank, I returned laughing at what I had in my bank. Who says you need money to have a hearty laugh. But if you are still having problems laughing and would do anything to have a good laugh, just let go. A teeny weenie bit of your wealth, to be precise. And I shall do the needful. Sure, money can’t buy you everything. But don’t you feel better when you spend it. Like in shopping?
I am a Cartoonist and Copywriter who has published in The Times of India, Deccan Herald, Mid Day, Bangalore Mirror, The Caravan and Civil Society, Society, Epd – Entwicklungspolitik (Germany)and many more. I have contributed my cartoons, caricatures and illustrations not only to media publications but also to ad agencies, corporates and NGOs. Wipro, SAP Labs, Samsung, IDP Australian Education and 3M are among the corporates to whom I have lent my cartooning and illustrating skills. I have had around 10 solo/group cartoon exhibitions. I have written ads, brochures, emailers and have also written content for company profiles and websites apart from dabbling with sculpture and theatre.
